Description
1960 Ford Thunderbird Convertible - Priced to Sell
Seven Hills Motorcars is pleased to offer this beautiful 1960 Ford Thunderbird convertible, priced to sell. This car represents one of the least expensive Thunderbird convertibles of this year on the market, making it an excellent opportunity for a classic car enthusiast. Thunderbirds of this era are increasingly rare, and the market for them is on the rise.
Finished in Red over Red leather, this T-Bird presents a classic and appealing color combination. This is a mostly original example that simply needs some attention to reach its full potential. It offers the chance to buy, enjoy, and potentially increase value over time.
Exterior
The Red exterior is in nice driver condition with a brilliant gloss and deep shine. Doors open and close smoothly, and chrome and bright work are in very nice overall condition, with recent re-chroming completed by the previous owner. The wheels and hubcaps show no curb rash, and Firestone tires are in excellent shape with roughly 90% tread remaining (215/70R14). Minor touch-ups and small blemishes exist but are not noticeable from a few feet away. Some rust is visible on the underside, which is reflected in the price. The convertible soft top is aged and will require replacement.
Interior
The Red leather interior is in great condition. Seats show only minor wear on the typical driver's bolster, and carpet is clean and free of rips or holes. Door panels are excellent with no cracks or splits. The dash, interior chrome, and bright work are in very good condition. This car has never been smoked in and has no cigarette odor or burn marks.
Mechanical
Mechanically, this Thunderbird starts easily and idles well. It drives nicely at low speeds, shifts smoothly, and brakes effectively, though the brake system could be adjusted for straighter stops. The engine bay is clean, detailed, and correct. All gauges function, including the oil, generator, speedometer, temperature, and fuel gauge. The blower for the "Ford Magic Air System" heater operates on both speeds. Wipers work, though slightly slow, and the horn, headlights, brights, turn signals, and indicators all function.
The power top mechanism will need servicing to operate correctly. The radio lights up but does not play sound. The engine smokes briefly when first started but clears quickly. While this Thunderbird has not yet been driven extensively on open roads, it offers a strong foundation and could be a very enjoyable driver with some maintenance and minor repairs.
Summary
A solid, affordable 1960 Ford Thunderbird convertible in a striking Red over Red leather combination. This car is perfect for someone looking for a project or driver-quality classic with potential for enjoyment and value appreciation.
